Dr. Gibbs is actively committed to professional education through national meetings and lectures and has been recognized on multiple occasions by medical students and surgical trainees for teaching excellence.
Dr. John Gibbs is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Professor of Surgery at the State University of New York at Buffalo and serves as Chair for the Division of Surgical Oncology for Kaleida Health at Buffalo General Hospital.
Experience & Career
Dr. Gibbs is also a Vice-Chair for Research and Associate Program Director in the Department of Surgery at the State University of New York at Buffalo. His previous appointment was the Chief of GI Surgery & Endoscopy at Roswell Institute of Cancer Research. Dr. John Gibbs holds an advanced administrative degree in Health Care Management from Harvard University. His area of clinical interest lies in the management of complex gastrointestinal cancers. His laboratory researches focus on developing adoptive dendritic cell immunotherapy against pancreatic cancer.
